This 60 Minutes report referenced at Wired seems to document some severe issues with the Oxygen system on the F-22 Raptor. “A ‘vast, silent majority’ of Raptor fliers fears for their lives as their high- and fast-flying jets cause them to black out or become confused in mid-air. Some pilots have taken out extra life-insurance policies.” I don’t like the reporting on it “some pilots” and “vast, silent majority” are just some of the terms that seem vague.
That said – there’s never been a full and accurate report of the Oxygen system failures on the F-22. Putting it in the firing line in the Middle East as they’ve done seems to be an unintelligent thing to do if these concerns are accurate.
